Hi, reader. I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I did this on my podcast, but wanted to make sure and cover my readers also. My name is Stan Rodda and this is a quick post about me and what is happening at stanrodda.com.
I was born in 1980 to an awesome family. I am a fourth generation pastor. My great-grandfather (Archie Word) began ministry back in the late 1920's on the West Coast. That heritage has made its way into the 4th generation of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Currently, I minister in the Washington DC area at a church called New Life Christian Church. We are a multi-site church with a passion for church planting and to create safe places where people can discover God. I serve as a Campus Pastor at one of the sites. I have served here for nearly seven years.
My family is awesome. I am married to an amazing woman, her name is Misty. We met in college and my life has only gotten better since meeting her. She is a challenge for me as she helps push and encourage me to be a better husband, father, pastor and overall human. I have three children: Grant, Ashton and Avary. They are awesome kids. And the fourth part of our clan is a Goldendoodle named, Gwenny. We live in the Gainesville area of Northern Virginia.
I am passionate about many things including; coaching leaders and ministry volunteers, brainstorming ideas and Huskers football. One of those is far more spiritual than the others, but being a Nebraska Cornhusker is next to Godliness, or so I've heard. I do love working with leaders and helping people discover next steps in their development. I get excited when others find success and clear paths forward in their own lives. Brainstorming ideas and how to accomplish that development with a leader is one of my favorite things to do on any given day. I live for new ventures and relationships like those.
While I am in ministry and much of my experience will be ministry based, I don't think that will prevent anyone outside of ministry, or someone who isn't a person of faith, from learning from our conversations. In fact, I hope to learn from many of you who will have wisdom where I may not have wisdom. I believe everyone leads someone. Whether you are a mom, dad, fast food manager, retail store owner, CEO, VP or entrepreneur, I believe this leadership resource site will be beneficial to you.
In my personal experience, I struggled through my 20's trying to lead well. There are many decisions that I would think through differently now if I had the opportunity. I don't think I am the only one with that story. That said, I am passionate about sharing some of what I have learned about leadership with people in their 20's, especially young adults who are going into ministry. My hope is to share what I have learned over the years and to spare someone else from making the same mistakes.
I am excited to get to know you and learn from you. Feel free to leave me comments or reach out to me on my contact page. Also, please subscribe to my podcast on iTunes. And if there are any questions you would like me to address on the podcast or blog, please don't hesitate to let me know.
